Shoreditch Warehouse Party Now Requires a Risk Assessment and a Spreadsheet

The last genuinely spontaneous warehouse party in Shoreditch reportedly happened sometime around 2014. Todays version arrives with a licensed capacity, a noise curfew agreed with three separate neighbours, and an organiser who describes himself, unironically, as head of operations.

Attendees say the vibe is basically the same, just with better fire exits. Veterans of the scene say something has been lost, though they admit the toilets are much improved and nobody has been arrested for the sound system in over a year.

Shoreditch nightlife survives, just with paperwork now. More from the neighbourhood at Cyndi Himmelstiere on The London Prat.
